About Rzeszow Castle
Rzeszow Castle - one of the fundamental points in Rzeszow city. The mansion situated between Aleja Pod Kasztanami and Aleja Lubomirski, Chopin Street, Sreniawitow Square and Colonel Lis-Kula Street. At present the mansion houses the seat of the common court, the building housed a jail up until 1981. An early fortress stood on the castle's grounds since the sixteenth century.
In 1620 he extended the mansion into a "Palazzo in fortezza". Since 1637 the chateau was put under the responsibility for House of Lubomirski. The greater part of the building works were finished by Tylman van Gameren and Karol Henryk Wiedemann. In 1820 the complex was brought under Austrian specialists; which adjusted the working for a courthouse and a jail. The building was deconstructed toward the start of the twentieth century because of its poor state. The main parts left from the first complex are the gatehouse and bastion strongholds.
