Lake Karapiro

Lake Karapiro is one of the world's driving paddling courses and has facilitated World Rowing Championships in 1978 and 2010. When choosing to grant the 2010 occasion to Lake Karapiro, the International Rowing Federation said the lake gave one of the most attractive courses in the game and was a standout amongst the most beautiful lakes on the planet.

Paddling New Zealand's National High Performance Training Center is situated at the Mighty River Domain, Lake Karapiro next to the lake and just 7km from Cambridge, and has created neighborhood best on the planet rowers, for example, Rob Waddell, Mahe Drysdale, the Evers-Swindell twins, Georgina and Caroline, and 2012 and 2016 Olympic gold medalists Hamish Bond and Eric Murray.
