About Bovenkarspel
Bovenkarspel is a village in the municipality of Stede Broec, within the West-Friesland vicinity, in the province of North Holland. The village has nearly 11,000 population, however the buildings of Bovenkarspel are now completely merged with the ones of Grootebroek, in order that each villages in fact form one residential middle. The town hall of the municipality of Stede Broec and both teach stations of the municipality are located on the territory of the antique Bovenkarspel.
Bovenkarspel became, collectively with Broekerhaven, an unbiased municipality till 1 January 1979. Bovenkarspel is already an antique residential middle: it's far cited in 1193. It then has 2 hundred population and the location might then already have a church or parish. The area become then possibly similar to a ribbon on the principle street. This is due to the fact the homes, just like the neighboring Grootebroec, Lutjebroec and Hoogkarspel, lay on a sand ridge inside the middle of a swamp location. The places then fell under the Broec banne.
