Ixtenco

Ixtenco is one of the 60 municipalities inside the country of Tlaxcala. It is located inside the foothills of the volcano La Malinche or Matlacueye, bordering to the north and west with the municipality of Huamantla, to the south with Zitlaltepec de Trinidad Sanchez Santos and to the east with the poblano municipality of Nopalucan. It has been diagnosed as the remaining redoubt of the Otomi culture inside the kingdom of Tlaxcala.
