Altzayanca

Atltzayanca is one of the 60 municipalities that constitute the Mexican nation of Tlaxcala. It is positioned east of the kingdom and approximately forty eight kilometers east of the town of Tlaxcala de Xicohtencatl. It has a territorial extension of 141,520 km². According to the II Population and Housing Count of 2005, the municipality has 14,333 inhabitants, of which 7,122 are men and 7,211 are girls.

Its name comes from the Nahuatl Azayancan and this, in flip, from the phrase Atl Which way Water, as well as the phrase Tzayani, which interprets as Rompe and Can, locative of Place and is interpreted as: Place wherein the waters wreck. In the northern part of the municipality there are hilly areas, within the center and in the south there are flat regions. Its hydrological sources are furnished in particular by means of several streams, a number of everlasting go with the flow; as well as the 1st ingesting water wells.
