About Chiconcuac
Chiconcuac is a town and district in the territory of Mexico, roughly 10 kilometers north of Texcoco de Mora. The name Chiconcuac gets from the Aztec word Chicome Coatl, "Seven snakes", which was a date on the Aztec timetable. Chiconcuac is chiefly popular for its huge tianguis, or open market, which has 2,400 changeless merchants, and draws in up to 6,000 more semi-perpetual and nomad sellers on ends of the week. The enormous sustenance court in the Chiconcuac showcase is broadly renowned for planning barbacoa de borrego sheep grill, and different strengths of Mexican food.
The region which is presently every one of the one city, was a group of settlements of for the most part Chichimecas and Tlailotlaques. The zone was vanquished by the Spanish in 1597, with land here conceded to Hernando Nunez where he built up the Hacienda de Santa Cruz de Prado Alegre, otherwise called the "Arojo". The zone was then proselytized by the Franciscans. On account of its closeness to Mexico City, the city endured fights amid the Mexican War of Independence, the French intercession in Mexico and the War of "La Reforma". In 1980, mammoth bones were found in an area called Calxiacatl.
