About Perak Museum

The Perak Museum Malay: Muzium Perak is an open exhibition hall situated at the intersection of Jalan Muzium Museum Road and Jalan Taming Sari Main Road in Taiping, Perak, Malaysia. It is the most established gallery in Malaysia and features the historical backdrop of the state. The Perak Museum in Taiping is the first and most established gallery in Malaysia. It was established in 1883 by Sir Hugh Low, the fourth British Resident of Perak 1877 to 1889. It owes its foundation to the gathering pledges endeavors of Sir Hugh Low and Sir Frank Swettenham, Resident of Perak from 1889– 1895, Resident-General of the Federated Malay States now Malaysia in 1896– 1901, and Governor and Commander-in-Chief of the Straits Settlements 1901– 1904.

The exhibition hall was at first worried about normal history especially ethnography, zoology, herbal science and geography, every single key territory of enthusiasm of its originator Sir Hugh Low. Its first custodian was Mr. Leonard Wray Jr., a botanist, geologist and Superintendent of Government Hill at Larut 1883 to 1903. To start with, the historical center was housed in some revamped government workplaces while the principle working of Neo-traditional outline was under development in 1883. The building included an office, library and display lobby Gallery An and was just finished in 1886 because of absence of assets. In 1889, expansions to the exhibition hall's front and back were included. Another display lobby Gallery B was built in 1891 to 1893.
