About Fort Alice

Fort Alice is a citadel in Shri Aman, Sarawak, Malaysia. The fortress become named after Charles Brook's spouse Margaret Ellis after the call of Lilly de Windt. Margaret of Sarawak, Lady Brook, Rane Sarawak, Queen White of the Second White King, Anthony Johnson Brooke He published his memo, My Life in Sarvak in 1913 in Sarmok. The memo provides a rare glimpse of existence in Kuching and Colonial Borneo in The Astana. Rane have become mythological in the account along the girls of electricity and intellect during his lifetime, his position, which he shared with different White Kings, as soon as being an English subject and an Asiatic King.

The citadel was initially constructed in 1864 after the victory of Charles Brook on the Rentup inside the form of the Simanggang Fort. The castle become indexed within the year 1971 as a historical monument via Sarawak State Government. In June 2013, restoration paintings at the castle started and on April 18, 2015, the price of MYR5 million become finished. It became later opened as a Mr Aman Heritage Museum. A rectangular castle become constructed on pinnacle of a hill. It is prepared with cannon, open courtyard, drawbridge and lookout tower. This citadel is very stunning and is the center of appeal of tourists.
