M. K. Ciurlionis National Art Museum

Set up in 1921, the M. K. Curlionis National Museum of Art has transformed into one of the most seasoned and biggest workmanship historical centers in Lithuania. It is the best place in Lithuania to wind up familiar with the improvement of Lithuanian and worldwide workmanship history and culture, from antiquated circumstances to the present day. The plan to set up a workmanship gallery was roused by the primary displays of Lithuanian craftsmanship from 1907 and the exercises of the Lithuanian craftsmanship cooperation in mid twentieth century.

In 1921, the Constitutive Assembly Seimas passed the M. K. Ciurlionis exhibition act. Following an outline by designer V. Dubeneckis, the development of the transitory M. K. Ciurlionis exhibition was started close to the Art School. The commemoration presentation of M. K. Ciurlionis works was held here in 1925. In 1930, the choice was made to construct another historical center, to honor the multiyear commemoration of the Grand Duke of Lithuania Vytautas the Great.

The Museum held the gathering from the Ciurlionis Gallery, the Kaunas City Museum and the State Museum. The essential mission of the museum today is to energize the comprehension of the social and aesthetic procedures by gathering, insurance, contemplating and presenting the M. K. Ciurlionis accumulation, together with Lithuanian and overall social legacy.
