About Nihonmatsu Castle

Nihonmatsu Castle is a Japanese fort placed in the town of Nihonmatsu, northern Fukushima Prefecture, Japan. Throughout most of the Edo length, Nihonmatsu Castle changed into domestic to the Niwa clan, daimyu of Nihonmatsu Domain. The castle became also known as "Kasumi-ga-jo” or "Shirahata jo”. The castle is one of the one hundred Fine Castles of Japan, and in 2007 become unique a National Historic Site. The citadel grounds also are a stated venue for viewing sakura in spring.
