About Mount Haku

Mount Haku is a mountain in Nishiwaki, Hyogo Prefecture, Japan. This mountain is one of the Hyogo 50 Mountains. Mount Haku is a mountain in the Chugoku Mountains. The name Hakusan is from the name of the place of worship, "Hakusan Gongen," which was on the highest point of the mountain. The Hakusan Gongen was a part of a group of Shinto, whose inside is on the highest point of Mount Haku with a similar name, on the outskirt of Ishikawa, Fukui and Gifu prefectures.

Mount Haku was a focal point of Shugendo in this district, and Sogon-ji on the foot of the mountain was a spot for love to this mountain. The mountain's tallest pinnacle, Gozengamine, is the one that gives the mountain its tallness of 2,702 m 8,865 ft. Alongside Kengamine, which is 2,677 m 8,783 ft, and Onanjimine, which is 2,648 m 8,688 ft, the three pinnacles are considered "Mount Haku's Three Peaks". Mount Bessan and Mount Sannomine are once in a while included and called "Mount Haku's Five Peaks".

Mount Haku was assigned as a semi national park in 1955. It turned into a national park in 1962 and was renamed Hakusan National Park. Since the focal piece of the mountain has much steep landscape, there are not many streets and, therefore, minimal human interruption into the zone. Likewise restricting human interruption is the assignment of the recreation center as a Wildlife Protection Area, covering more than 38,061 ha. The recreation center stretches past the mountain's fringes into Toyama Prefecture.
