Ehime
About Ehime
Ehime is a prefecture in northwestern Shikoku, Japan. The capital is Matsuyama. Until the Meiji Restoration, Ehime Prefecture was known as Iyo Province. Since before the Heian time frame, the territory was commanded by anglers and mariners who assumed a vital job in shielding Japan against privateers and Mongolian attacks. After the Battle of Sekigahara, the Tokugawa shogun gave the territory to his partners, including Kato Yoshiaki who fabricated Matsuyama Castle, shaping the reason for the cutting edge city of Matsuyama.
The name Ehime originates from the kuniumi part of the Kojiki where Iyo Province is fancifully named Ehime, "dazzling princess". In 2012, an examination gather from the University of Tokyo and Ehime University said they had found uncommon earth stores in Matsuyama. Located in the northwestern piece of Shikoku, Ehime faces the Seto Inland Sea toward the north and is circumscribed by Kagawa and Tokushima in the east and Kochi in the south.
The prefecture incorporates both high mountains in the inland locale and a long coastline, with numerous islands in the Seto Inland Sea. The westernmost arm of Ehime, the Sadamisaki Peninsula, is the tightest promontory in Japan. As of April 1, 2012, 7% of the all out land region of the prefecture was assigned as Natural Parks, to be specific the Ashizuri-Uwakai and Setonaikai National Parks; Ishizuchi Quasi-National Park; and seven Prefectural Natural Parks.
