This brilliant wellspring was planned in the sixteenth century by a popular stone carver and an understudy of Michelangelo, Bartolomeo Ammannati. It is ruled by a statue of Neptune remaining on the octagonal base. The lord of freshwater and the ocean was molded to look like the substance of Cosimo I de' Medici, the second Duke of Florence.
It fills in as an indication of the esteem and notoriety of the capable family. Since it is situated on one of the busiest squares in Florence, the statue of Neptune was harmed by vandals a few times previously. Be that as it may, the first is securely put away in the National Museum of the Bargello, this is just a duplicate.
