As the name suggests, the Shikaresvara temple is situated on the Sikharam, that is the highest point of Srisailam. This temple is dedicated to Sikharesvara Swamy, one of the forms of Lord Shiva, who is known to watch over the landscapes and the holy River Krishna that flows beneath.
Sikharesvara Swamy is known to free his devotees from their sins and this is the reason why so many visitors flock to the temple. The temple not only is the abode of Lord Sikharam, but also a view point for the visitors who wish to look at the breathtaking sceneries, hills all covered in spiritualism and devotion. There is another temple dedicated to Lord Ganesh in its vicinity.
