This island was previously the administrative headquarters of the islands but an earthquake back in 1941 jolted the place and the headquarters shifted to Port Blair. It is 2 km east of Port Blair and now one can only see the remains of the old school, ruins of the church, swimming pool. This island can give you insight to some historic events that happened in the past apart from nature's beauty.This island is completely uninhabited by humans. The officials don't allow human settlement here. This island attracts not only adventure seekers but also many history buffs because of the historical significance. Some of the bakeries and shops which got ruined during the earthquake are now been rebuilt by the Navy. If you want to see blue waters of the ocean this place can be an ideal destination.
