It is a grand landmark of extraordinary verifiable and religious criticalness. Truth be told, the city of Dehradun itself gets its name from the verifiable certainty that Shri Guru Ram Rai Ji, the oldest child of the Seventh Sikh Guru Har Rai Ji, set up his "dera" camp in "dun" valley in 1676. This 'Dera' 'Dun' later on progressed toward becoming Dehradun.
The Mughal Emperor Aurangzeb was exceedingly inspired by the inexplicable forces of charming Guru Ram Rai Ji. Thus he solicited the contemporary Raja from Garhwal, Fateh Shah to stretch out all conceivable help to Shri Guru Ram Ji. At first a Gurudwaratemple was worked in Dhamawala. The Construction of the present working of Darbar Sahib was finished in 1707.
