Pandava Gufa is an ancient natural cave situated on Uttarkashi. It is enveloped with lush greenery, hilly terrains and endless natural bounties. The Pandavas in Hindu myth require no introduction, they stand for undivided family love and bravery. The place is believed to be of mythological importance as it is believed that to be the place where Pandavas of Mahabharata meditated while they were heading to Kailash.
The cave is said to be very beautiful and full of natural splendour. This temple is open for six months in summer only as it is covered by heavy snow in rest of the year. One has to trek 1.5 km from Gangotri to reach this place. On the way to this cave, one will also see Suryakund and Gaurikund is beautiful big rocks in artistic view made by the intense flow of water through rocks. Forest walk is full of thrill with nobody around but Deodar and Coheed trees.
This is an amazing place and worth exploring. This is one spot that gathers at the foothills of Gangotri Temple to add to its glory. Gangotri temple is the religious feature of Gangotri tourism.
