It is situated at a separation of 12 Kms from Rameshwaram. Pamban Bridge interfaces to Rameswaram Island with the primary land. The extension was opened for activity in 1914 and is one of the prime spots to visit in Rameshwaram. It is one of the longest ocean connect in India and its length is almost 2.2 km and stands as a fine case for Indian engineering. The scaffold was built with adequate rise. The islands close by and parallel rail connect beneath can be seen from this extension. It is believed to be the most visited place in the region.
