Mulbekh Monastery or Gompa lies in the area of Kargil, Ladakh where it is composed of two gompas namely Drukpa and Gelugpa. The monastery is situated in a high altitude where one can see the remarkable brilliancy of the engraved statue of Maitreya Buddha. The statue was believed to be situated long periods ago nearly to about 8th century and in the other hand it is also believed that the statue was built during the period of Kushan or the 1st century.
The monastery is a treat to eyes where one can visualize many relics, scripts and inscriptions frescos which sketch the cultural and artistic brilliancy of 14th century. The place is a definite spot to explore such historical and cultural episodes.
