About Le Corbusier Center

The Old Architects’ Office presently named Le Corbusier Centre is one of the earliest buildings constructed in Chandigarh, at the side of the Old Engineers’ workplace and body of workers residences in Sector 19, Chandigarh. It persisted to be put to its original use until 1965 when the Department of Urban Planning shifted to its present place within the U.T. Secretariat in Sector nine.Being the workplace of Le Corbusier and his crew, as also the spot from where the complete town became designed, the constructing is of substantial historical value to Chandigarh.

The shape is also a big aid for understanding the technological, formal, and aesthetic spirit of present day architecture, as also its peculiar manifestation within the context of Chandigarh. The original constructing turned into designed by means of Pierre Jeanneret with unique attention to Chandigarh’s mandate of value-powerful and climate responsive design.
