It lies at a height of 3500 m above ocean level. Lahesh Cave is a 12 km trek from the McLeod Ganj Bus Stop. Lahesh Cave is a Camping ground which is utilized by shepherds in the summers when they take their sheep to the high height knolls here. It is situated at a separation of 12 km from McLeod Ganj and 17 km from Dharamshala.
The trail is 10 km from Dharamkot and goes through Galu Devi Temple, Triund and Illaqa. Triund is the base camp for the trekkers who proceed with the trek to Lahesh Cave, Indrahara Pass to Bharmour.
