About Jabarkhet Nature Reserve

The place where the Jabarkhet Nature Reserve is located has an extended and interesting history, which we had been able to trace from the time when the early records were stored by using the British owners. Prior to that, the area have to had been used and controlled as community forests by the nearby villagers residing right here. Records dating back to the mid-1800s display that the belongings became firstly referred to as Rockville and acquired through a Dr. Wright. It became bought in 1858 to Lt Col R.H. Seals. The property at the time consisted of 952 acres of more often than not alrightand pine forest.
After the demise of Col Seals in 1859, the belongings was mortgaged to the Delhi & London Bank. In 1875, it become sold by using Mrs I. B. Brown, spouse of the then Deputy Collector of Allahabad. In 1876, it became mortgaged to the Agra Savings Bank, which took possession in 1887 because of the proprietors not being able to meet their obligations. In 1888, the Bank officially purchased the property. In spring, the paths are scarlet with fallen rhododendron plants and the trees are flowering and new leaves acting. Birds are at their satisfactory at this time of the year and early mornings will come up with vistas of the Himalayas.
