The Gomatheshwara Statue Lord Bahubali is situated in the Udupi city of Karnatakaon and a rough hillock called Bahubali Betta in Karkala, at a separation of 37 Kms from Udupi and 50 Kms from Mangalore. It is arranged close Chaturmukha Basadi around 1 Km. This single stone 42-foot statue of Gomateshwara is the second tallest in Karnataka, after Shravanabelagola.
Veera Pandya Deva, the King of Bairarava family fabricated this solid statue in his respect and furthermore introduced the Brahmadeva Pillar before the statue in 1436. The Maha Masthakaabhisheka celebration, holy washing of the statue with saffron glue, drain and water, held in like clockwork.
