About Dinanagar
Dinanagar is a town and a civil chamber in Gurdaspur area in the territory of Punjab, India. It takes its name after Adina Beg, one of Akbar's followers to whom the sovereign allowed Jagirs huge land possessions here. The town came up amid Akbar's administration and old structures, bazaars and the walled part of the town and its entryways are an observer to this. It was the late spring capital of Maharaja Ranjit Singh. Dinanagar town is arranged around 14 l, North-East of Gurdaspur. It was established by Adina Beg in 1730, on the bank of Hasli or Shah Nahar as his living arrangement and cantonment. He appears to have practiced his administration from this town.
Dinanagar was a most loved summer resort of Maharaja Ranjit Singh. It was one focus where Singh typically held his Durbar amid the late spring. It was Singh's late spring capital. Gurdaspur Tehsil, a more prominent part of Batala Tehsil and 181 towns of Pathankot Tehsil were incorporated into the Adinanagar locale. In July 1849 the common and military escorts were exchanged to Batala as Dinanagar was thought unfortunate and in 1852 it turned out to be a piece of Gurdaspur locale. The Rowlatt ACT go in March 1919 contributed the Government with exceptional forces to smother any sort of political tumult. An entire hartal was seen in Dinanagar alongside Gurdaspur, Pathankot and Batala.
