About Deori Tal

Deori Tal also known as Devariya Tal is a pristine lake located near Chopta. It can be reached through a 3 km uphill trek from Sari Village. This trek is a pure delight and nature lovers will enjoy this, for it provides beautiful views of Himalayan peaks, Chaukhamba, Nilkantha, Bandarpunch, Kedar Range and Kalang.

The lake is situated at a height of 2300 metres above sea level and is covered by dense forests on one side, and looming Himalayas on the other. One can do overnight camping at Deori Tal and also walk through jungle. One can have tea and local snacks at the stalls.

Mythological stories narrate that this place was the spot where the Panda as were questioned by Yaksha.
