Chorabari Tal is a little lake that holds perfectly clear water. Roosted at a height of 3,900 m above ocean level, Gandhi Saro lies on the foot of Kedarnath and Kirthi Stambh top. It offers glorious perspectives of the encompassing Himalayan pinnacles. The first name of the lake is Kanti Saro.
In the year 1948, some of Mahatma Gandhi's cinders were submerged here, after which it was renamed Gandhi Saro. As per folklore, this lake was where Lord Shiva granted the information of Yoga to the Saptrishis. There is a Bhairava Temple near the icy mass nearby a precipice known as Bhairava Jhamp. The bluff was where fans bounced off, trusting that it would bring them mukti. The training was prohibited by the British organization in the nineteenth century.
