About Bhoga Nandeeshwara Temple

Bhoga Nandeeshwara Temple likewise spell "Bhoga Nandishwara" or "Bhoga Nandisha" is a Hindu sanctuary situated in Nandi town, at the base of Nandi Hills or Nandidurga in the Chikkaballapur region of Karnataka state, India. It is committed to the Hindu god Shiva. The first sanctuary in the mind boggling, distinguished as one of the most established sanctuaries of Karnataka, goes back to the mid ninth century. The most punctual engravings alluding to the development of the sanctuary for Shiva, as per the Archeological Survey of India, are from Nolamba tradition ruler Nolambadiraja and the Rashtrakuta head Govinda III dated c.806, and copper plates of the Bana rulers Jayateja and Dattiya of about c.810.

The sanctuary was later under the support of progressive eminent South Indian traditions: the Ganga Dynasty, the Chola line, the Hoysala Empire and the Vijayanagara Empire. In the post medieval period, the neighborhood head of Chikaballapura and the leaders of the Mysore Kingdom Hyder Ali and Tipu Sultan controlled the locale before it inevitably went under British administer after the passing of Tipu Sultan in c.1799. The engineering style is Dravidian. The sanctuary is situated at a separation of 60 km from Bangalore. The sanctuary is ensured as a landmark of national significance by the Archeological Survey of India.
