About Banke Bihari Mandir

Among the holiest and the most widely known temples dedicated to Lord Krishna in India is the famous Banke Bihari Temple. The temple was constructed back in 1864. The idol of Shri Banke Bichari is placed on a huge golden swing and lots of people visit the temple for a glimpse of the idol.

The temple has a beautiful architecture and is very spacious. There are plenty of shops outside and a lot of monkeys all around. The idol of Banke Bihari is worshipped and looked after as a child.

Every festival celebrated in the Banke Bihari temple is marked with some uniqueness. The deity is dressed up, offered cuisines depending on the season. The entire temple is adorned with lights and flowers. Since Banke Bihari does not like the sound of the bell, there are no bells in the temple. The chants of Radha naam can make you feel the spiritual bit of Vrindavan. Entering this temple can bring you eternal bliss and calm.
