About Alvar Tirunagari Temple

Altirunagari Temple is a vital religious spot for Vaishnavites. It is arranged around 100 km from Kanyakumari and 45 km from Thoothukkudi town of Thhothukkudi District. Altirunagari Temple is viewed as one among the 108 'Divayadesam' or holy places of Vaishnavites. It is likewise thought to be the eighth Temple of 'Navathirupathi'. Alternate sanctuaries included under 'Navathirupathi' are Srivaikundam, Natham, Thiruppulingudi, Perungulam, Irattai Thiruppathi, Tholaivillimangalam, Then Thirupperai and Thirukolur.

Altirunagari Temple is committed to Lord Adhinathan or Adipiran. A hallowed place is likewise devoted to Saint Nammalwar who created psalms to Lord Adhinathan under a tamarind tree inside the sanctuary complex.
