About Shrine of the Earth God
Not far west of Sheung Cheung Wai lies a sanctum devoted To Tei Kung the Earth God, who is referred to the villagers as She Kung otherwise called Pak Kung and Fuk Tak Kung. Sacred places, for example, this one are usually found in customary Chinese towns, as She Kung is accepted to be the defender of villagers.
They are generally basic block structures on which a stone is set to symbolize the nearness of the god. Those with higher status may have peak dividers with a "wok yee the handles of a Chinese cooking container design.
