Butterfly Garden

The Butterfly Garden was created in a sheltered spot in the Middle Area, to attract some of Hong Kong's more than 230 species of butterflies and over 2,000 species of moths. The main purpose of establishing Butterfly Garden near the Wild side Walk is to build plantations. By planting the right nectar and larval food plants, we encourage a large iety of species to visit the garden all-year-round. Over 1,300 different moth species and 171 butterfly species, including many rarities, have been recorded at KFBG.

In May 2006 a pamphlet namely "Butterfly Garden of Hong Kong Wetland Park" was produced to help visitors, teachers and students to take a closer look at the butterflies. In sunny days, visitors can also enjoy charming butterflies dancing here
