Musee Matisse

The Musee Matisse in Nice is a national gallery committed to crafted by French painter Henri Matisse. It assembles one of the world's biggest accumulations of his works, following his masterful beginnings and his advancement through his last works. The manor took its present name in 1950, when the City of Nice, restless to save it, got it from a land organization.

The historical center was made in 1963 and possessed the main floor of the estate, the ground floor being then involved by an exhibition hall of archaic exploration. With another cutting edge wing and in addition remodeled spaces, the gallery could show its whole lasting accumulation, which has kept on expanding since 1963 through a few progressive acquisitions and gifts.
