About Mont-Roland

The Shrine of Our Lady of Mount Roland is a high place of Marian pilgrimage dating back to the xi th century, on the hill called "Mount Roland" to Jouhe in the department of Jura.

The sanctuary is located on one of the paths of Compostela 1 , in the north of the Jura department , in the Burgundy-Franche-Comté region . It rises to 343 m altitude, on the hill of Mont-Roland, located south of the commune of Jouhe . From this position, 5 km north of Dole , the most populous city in the department, it dominates the Jura mountains , to the east, and the plains of Saone , to the north and west.
