Gallo Roman Museum

The historical center was set up in 1954 and got its cutting edge working in 1994. In 2011, it was awardedIn the nineteenth century the Royal History and Antiquarian Society of Tongeren had amassed an accumulation of archeological revelations from the region. Some of this gathering was then shown in the city from 1854. In 1937 the Provincial Museum opened in Hasselt where the most imperative bits of the Tongeren accumulation were displayed. In 1954 the Provincial Gallo-Roman Museum was opened in Tongeren.
The gathering was extended through gifts and uncovers conveyed by the historical center itself and the Nationale Dienst voor Opgravingen National Department for Excavations.
