About Pangapog Festival

Pangapog Festival is situated in Samal City, Davao del Norte held every year 1st to 7th of August. It is a thanksgiving celebration for an abundant reap featuring the way of life of the Sama, the indigenous individuals of Samal, as showed in the nearby indigenous games, social, and expressions rivalry. The Pangapog Festival includes a brilliant motorcade with road moving, singing and customary moves.
The Pangapog Festival is the thanksgiving of the Sama clan for the plentiful collect and festivity of their social legacy normally each period of August. A Pangapog custom opens the festival with a "Panawagtawag", performed by babaylan Teresita Lugam in Sama tongue. The Pangapog festival is celebrated by the Samas of Samal Island situated in Davao Gulf to thank the spirits of their progenitors for a plentiful reap.

The Pangapog celebration that we saw started with a tremendous planning both for the custom and for the devour.
