About Naliyagan Festival

Naliyagan Festival is Agusan del Sur's territory wide merriment which unintentionally begins on June 12 in Philippine. Incepted in 1993 amid the incumbency of the late Gov. Democrito O. Court, the celebration is acknowledgment of the Manobo individuals' unwaveringness to their ancestral pioneer Datu Lipus Makapandong.
In 1993, weeks previously the 26th  Foundation Anniversary of the Province of Agusan del Sur a social occasion of every Tribal Leader in the region was held and directed by the Provincial pioneer Datu Lipus Makapandong, Governor D.O. Square. The Manobo pioneers consistently consented to call that day of festivity as Naliyagan Festival. 
Naliyagan is a Manobo word which signifies "the divinely selected individual" or "the most adored one". It is a weeklong festival of socio-social and expressions piece of indigenous clans in the whole Agusan valley and showing their aptitudes and culture through custom exercises, display of local items, ethnic recreations and a large group of wearing competitions and exceptional occasions.
The celebration portrays the Agusanon's way of life and legacy. Locals from far-flung puts for the most part descend and show their abilities through ancestral moves and customs.
