About Ana Kalang Festival

Ana Kalang Festival is a 5-day celebration each April in Nagcarlan, Laguna, over the foot of Mt. Banahaw and Mt. Cristobal. This festival remembers the plentiful collect of the town's agro-modern items which are plenteous in the place, similar to rice, coconuts and lanzones. The festival was named after the incredible clan head Ana Kalang, which as per the legend was known for her gigantic riches, benevolence, devotion and liberality. It is said that she used to help her townspeople stuck in an unfortunate situation. Multi day, a Spaniard went to her home and after watching out of the window, he saw branches influencing and hitting each other, thus he asked what was happening. Ana Kalang addressed and said "nagkakalang sila". The word was over and over misspoke by the Spaniards until the point when it moved toward becoming Nagcarlan, which is currently the name of the town.

It was additionally said that Ana Kalang saw the Virgin Sta. Ana who removed the toxic substance from the lanzones organic products to make them consumable. Presently, lanzones is one of the real results of the area. The significant fascination of the celebration is the parade and the road moving challenge. Road artists are wearing wonderful and brilliant local ensembles. They move effortlessly in the lanes, moving around the monster Kalang-Kalang. The Kalang-Kalang is a one of a kind people craftsmanship and a goliath statue that is ten feet high and made of different organic products, vegetables and indigenous materials. The parade is fun and pleasant, with such a great amount of support of the townspeople moving cheerfully with the hints of drums and lyre corps from ious schools.
