Museum Jorn

Museum Jorn, Silkeborg, is a Danish art museum placed in lovely surroundings via Gudenaen in Silkeborg, Denmark. Museum Jorn holds the collections that have been developed through Asger Jorn from the early 1950s till his dying in 1973, for the reason that after they have doubled in volume. Museum Jorn's records dates returned to 1940 while a museum affiliation of Silkeborg and Neighbourhood made its first acquisitions of artwork. In 1951, a single room within the local records museum in Silkeborg turned into converted to preserve present day artwork. In 1961 the museum opened an exhibition at the premises of a school constructing in Silkeborg, and in 1965 the impartial organization Silkeborg Museum of Art was based. In 1973 the museum took over the complete school constructing, where the museum turned into housed until 1982.
