-Arrival on Kathmandu.
Fly To Lukla
+You will be transferred to the domestic airport. The flight to Lukla from the airport takes about 35 minutes and is a very scenic one. You will be introduced to your porters and trekkers that will be accompanying you in this trek, and as they prepare your traveling equipment you can look around the town. As soon as we leave the town, there is a gentle climb along the mountainside on the left bank of Dudh koshi river. Nupla peak can be seen above the Kondge ridge at a distance on the opposite bank. The trail continues along a small path with many descents and ascents to reach Phakding.
Trek To Namche
+The path from Phakding continues with a level path along the right bank. After crossing a stream, you climb the terraced hill from the Dudh Koshi route, to arrive at Bengar. The way then ascends into the mountain, through your way to Chumoa. After passing the tiny village of Monjo, you walk up and down and pass many streams till you reach Sagarmatha National Park entrance, near the village of Jorsale, where an entry fee is collected. From Jorsale the landscapes unravel themselves at each turn as you enter a forested mountainside. The river forks along this V-shaped valley and after a short ascent along the Bhote Koshi river, you begin a steep walk to the Namche. Along the way you’ll discover many traditional huts as well as many new buildings that are being built to accommodate the ever increasing and booming tourist trade. As the mountain path zigzags uphill, you will emerge at a ridge top rest area that offers excellent views of Everest 8848m and Lhotse 8516m. The climb eases somewhat, as you travel along the way surrounded by pines. After passing the plateau you enter the Namche village.
Acclimatization Day
+Namche, which is known as the gateway to Everest, is the capital of the Sherpa. It is the central trading hub, consisting many shops, health centers, hotels and lodges. This is the place to acclimatize before you hike up to higher altitudes. For doing so, you have ious options. You can walk up to the Sherpa culture Museum, which also offers great views of the Himalayas and the Namche from a height. The other option would be the Monastery located in the Sherpa populated Khumjung, where the splendid views of Everest, Ama Dablam, Thamserku, Nuptse, Lhotse, and Tawche can be enjoyed. Or you can have an hour walk up to the Syangboche 3800m, where Everest View Hotel is situated above the outstanding view of Everest, Nuptse, Lhotse, Ama Dablam, Thamserku and Kusum Kangaru.
Trek To Tengboche
+The trek which takes five hours follows the contour from Namche before descending down Dudh Koshi river. The first half of the climb to Tengboche monastery is especially steep but the Mani stone carvings will power you up. The climb then eases somehow one you enter a forested mountainside, and as the trail goes down a mountainside, a stone gate is seen which marks your entry to the Tengboche monastery. There is a hotel and lodge managed by the Nation Park service in this area.
Trek To Dingboche
+With the Khumbu mountains as a backdrop, you leave Tengboche and descend a rhododendron canopy to a pleasant level area. Being welcomed by a long Mani stone wall, you enter the village of Deboche. You continue to Minlinggo and leave the mountain path to cross over a suspension bridge to the left bank of the Imja Khola. The ascent through a chorten-lined route leads to a fork, where you take the lower route to Pangboche Olin and its stone wall-enclosed potato field. The trails climb slowly, winding above the Imjatse River, to a big Mani Stupa. From here, the walk is fairly moderate as you enter the Imjatse Valley beneath the mighty peaks of Ama Dablam, Nuptse and Lhotse.
Acclimatization At Dingboche
+Dingboche is a village in the Khumbu region of north eastern Nepal. Dingboche is a popular stop for trekkers and climbers for acclimatization. The village relies heavily on tourists with lodges and tenting areas comprising most of Dingboche. One of the characteristics of Dingboche is the kilometers of stone walls, built using the stones of different sizes that cover the entire Valley of Imja. A short walk to the island peak with breathtaking views of the north face of Ama Dablam and the Lhotse-Nuptse ridge aids acclimatization. You could also hike upto Chhukum, from where you can enjoy the panoramic view of Island peak, Ama Dablaml, Makalu, Tawoche peak and others.
Trek To Lobuche
+The trek to Lobuche is pretty long but with a vast landscape which makes it a beautiful walk. You will cross several frozen streams starting from high on the mountain with juniper bushes. The onward journey leads north for up to 50-minutes till you arrive at a mani-prayer Stupa. The trail is gentle looking down to the Pheriche village below. After two hours of walking you stop near Dugla for lunch after which the climb gets more strenuous. On the way you will come across many memorials for the people who lost their lives during the Everest like Scott Fisher. One can see Mt Pumori 7165 meters, Lingtren 6713 meters and Khumbutse 6639 meters. Lobuche gives beautiful views of Nuptse and other mountains. Mt Everest and Lhotse although taller peaks are blocked by Nuptse.
Trek To Everest Base Camp
+The hike out of Lobuche climbs steadily along the Khumbu Glacier and past the trail for the Italian Pyramid, which is a research center. The climbing isn’t long, steep, or intense, but the elevation is a little troublesome. The next bit of trail dips down between two hills before climbing back up to the same elevation. Gorak Shep is actually a frozen lakebed, covered in sand that stretches to the west and north of the outpost. The trail to EBC starts with a walk back towards the Khumbu Glacier through the incredibly loose sand of Gorak Shep’s dry lakebed. The trail reaches the top of the ridge and follows the mountain’s spine due north towards the cul-de-sac at the end of the glacier. Walking along the now flattening out trail, you can get a glimpse of the Everest. The trail then slopes downward and you reach the base camp, filled with piles of stones, prayer flags, and several “Everest base camp” signs. With the exception of the climb off the glacier and back up to the trail, the way back to Gorakshep is easy-going and mostly flat or downhill.
Trek To Kala Patthar
+One should leave Gorakshep early in order to view the sunrise. The way to Kala Patthar is long and strenuous, but is definitely worth it, as you get a clear and unobstructed view of the Everest surrounded by Pumori, Mt. Lingtren, Mt. Khumbetse, and many more. Then you head back to Pheriche which is much easier compared to the climb. Pheriche is a bustling area from where you can make calls to any part of the world,
Trek To Tengboche
+The descent through a rhododendron canopy to Tengboche is easy and takes about four hours. Tengboche is a small village famous for its Monastery. This place exhibits unique Sherpa culture and will you help learn about the Sherpa a little more. The major attractions of this place are ornate wall hangings, a 20-foot sculpture of Buddha, and the musical instruments and robes of the Lamas.
Trek To Namche Bazar
+The walk from Tyangboche is mostly downhill, with the exception of a steep climb for an hour from the bridge at Phungitenga, near to Shanasha. The walk to Namche is very scenic on a long winding path. You visit the traditional villages of Khumjung. There is an opportunity to visit one of its monasteries, the only monastery that has a Yeti Scalp. From Khumjung village another 30-minute walk brings you to the village of Khunde, where you can visit the Khunde Hospital funded by Sir Edmund Hillary Trust.
Trek To Lukla
+Trekking through Namche, Phakding 2640m, and Monjo, you will follow the Dudh koshi trail back to Lukla at a leisurely pace. You can buy special souvenirs like the yak bell on your way back. The last evening will be spent among the amiable Sherpa sipping on a traditional drink chhyaang and enjoying the Sherpa dance in the lap of Himalayas.
