Later, proceed for a half-Day-city sightseeing tour of Kochi. Kochi which is having the best-preserved history of colonial times and the ideal way to bring it alive is to take a walk down memory lane. The major tourist attractions are Chinese Fishing Nets, St. Francis Church, Santa Cruz Basilica, Jewish Synagogue, and Mattancherry Palace/Dutch Palace.
Day-02 : Cochin - Alleppey - HouseboatIndia Tours, Visit India - India Travel
Morning at leisure at resort, 1230 hrs checks in at houseboat. Rest of the Day-at leisure on the House Boat. Sit back and relax while the boat cruises through the narrow serene backwater canals of Kumarakom & Alleppey and seen in breathing green, the village slumbers by the Vembanadu Lake. On cruise scenery flashes up vivid contrasts of lush green and deep blues. As the boat glider along the gorgeous green of the fringed palms the ripples in the blue water blend in to little wavelets. Lunch, Evening Tea/Coffee with snacks, You could hear the twinkle of a shining star or diving of fish around you to say hello by waving its tail from the lake dinner and Overnight stay on House Boat.
Morning after breakfast disembark your houseboat and drive towards Periyar (Thekkady).
The Periyar National Park is spread over an area of about 777 km and comprises a thick evergreen forest with exotic wild life. The sanctuary was declared a tiger reserve sometime in 1978. The Periyar tiger reserve is considered as one of the best-managed reserve in India. The core zone of the park is not accessible to the tourists. Within the buffer zone of 430 km, a zone of 55 km is kept apart for tourism. It has an artificial lake formed by the Mullaperiyar Dam, built in 1895 across the Periyar River.
After lunch visit the Periyar wildlife sanctuary by Boating through Periyar Lake. This will be ever-memorable one. Rest of the Day-will be free at leisure.
Later proceed to Munnar, the place where the unfolded green carpet is waiting for you. Munnar is breathtakingly beautiful, a haven of peace and tranquility - the idyllic tourist destination in Gods own country. Munnar is the gateway of Hills in South India. On the way you can also watch the lovely waterfalls in Cheeyappara and colourful flowers in Blossom Garden. Reach & check-in at the hotel and relax for a while amidst the comforts of your room.
Later proceed for a morning sightseeing trip of Munnar; visiting the Eravikulam National Park where you can see the very rare mountain goats locally called the Nilgiri Tahr, visit Mattupetty Dam which offers many fascinating sights to relish. The Shola forests around Mattupetty are ideal for trekking and bird watching, with the variety of birds found there. Kundala is a picturesque town located at the confluence of three mountain streams namely Mudrapuzha, Nallathanni and Kundala.

Later, drive towards Athirapally. The charm of Athirapally and Vazhachal waterfalls cannot be described in words. Perched high above the sholayar forest ranges on the fringes of Keralas fames rain forests. The Athirapally waterfalls provide a restful escape for those wanting to leave the hurried pace of city life behind. Relax amidst the scenic attractions of Vazhachal.

Afternoon, proceed for local sightseeing in and around Guruvayoor - a thriving township in Trichur district, Guruvayoor is known for its scenic beauty and serenity. The place is noted for the Guruvayurappan Temple, Anakotta - Guruvayur Devaswom elephant sanctuary -one of the largest elephant sanitarium in all over the world. Also known as Punnathurkotta, Anakotta is 3 km far from Guruvayur Temple.
