In the afternoon, proeed to local sightseeing tour and start by visiting the Periyar wildlife sanctuary which is a thick evergreen forest. The park was declared as a Tiger Reserve in the year 1978. What adds more to the charm of the park is the splendid artificial lake formed by the Mullaperiyar Dam across the Periyar River.
