About Medicine Lake
Medicine Lake is situated inside Jasper National Park, Alberta, Canada. It is found roughly 20 km 12 mi southeast of the townsite of Jasper, Alberta. Prescription Lake is around 7 km 4.3 mi long and is a generally shallow lake. The lake is a piece of the Maligne Valley watershed which is chiefly frosty fed.
Medicine Lake is a geologic peculiarity as in it isn't really a lake yet rather a region in which the Maligne River spilling out of Maligne Lake into the Athabasca River goes down and all of a sudden vanishes underground as a losing stream.
Amid the late spring a very long time amid heightened meltwater spillover the lake which amid the winter months is a wandering solidified waterway fills to levels which vacillate after some time and with the overflow occasions. Much like a bath that is filled too quick for it to deplete, it winds up weighed down with water lake until the point when it can gradually deplete as the tap stream spillover is lessened waterway.
