About Grenville
Grenville is a town district in the Argenteuil Regional County Municipality of the Laurentides area of Quebec, Canada. It is situated inverse Hawkesbury, Ontario, on the Ottawa River. In spite of the fact that Grenville was at that point appeared on the Gale and Duberger Map of 1795, it was not until January 28, 1808, that Grenville Township was authoritatively settled; the township's name celebrated Lord George Grenville. After two years, in 1810, the primary French and English pioneers touched base in the area. You can come here and explore this place.
Its key area on the Ottawa River and the development of the Carillon Canal in 1819 prompted the town's genuine growth. In 1826 the primary general store opened and in 1828, the principal school. In 1830 "Kingsey" sawmill was manufactured, and a flour process was included 1838. In 1857 development started on the Carillon and Grenville Railway, which was finished six years after the fact. In 1861 the town and its surroundings had around 900 occupants. On January 1, 1876, the Village Municipality of Grenville was shaped at which time it surpassed one thousand people. In 1910 the Carillon and Grenville Railway was deserted and later on disassembled.
