About Darlington Provincial Park

Darlington Provincial Park is a piece of the Ontario Provincial Parks framework. It is found only south of Highway 401 close to the town of Courtice, between the urban areas of Bowmanville and Oshawa. A little stop, the geography is overwhelmed by delicate slopes, a terminal moraine kept by ice sheets toward the finish of the last Ice Age. The recreation center fringes on the northern shore of Lake Ontario likewise encases McLaughlin Bay.

The Bay is shallow, and eventually in the 1990s was totally shut off from the lake by the activity of the waves. The property circumscribing the recreation center toward the west is the home of General Motors Corporation's Canadian central command. Kintigh Generating Station can be seen from this commonplace stop despite the fact that it is on the opposite side of the lake in Somerset, New York. Darlington Provincial Park is home to a few assortments of plants and creatures.

The greenery of the recreation center comprises for the most part of second-age regrowth, as the recreation center was reforested in the 1960s in the wake of being cleared for farmland. Obtrusive plant species are a difficult issue in the recreation center, particularly the forceful purple loosestrife developing in the mucky regions flanking McLaughlin Bay. Creature species present in the recreation center range from the white-followed deer to squirrels and other little animals. Other creatures, for example, coyotes and dim wolves have been supposed to meander around the recreation center.
