About Xingo Dam

The Xingo Dam is a solid face shake fill dam on the Sao Francisco River on the fringe of Alagoas and Sergipe, close Piranhas, Brazil. The dam was worked for route, water supply and hydroelectric power age as it bolsters a 3,162 megawatts 4,240,000 hp control station. It was developed somewhere in the range of 1987 and 1994 and the remainder of its generators was appointed in 1997. In Portuguese, the dam is known as the Usina Hidreletrica de Xingo.

Concentrates for the Xingo Dam were done during the 1950s and contracts for development were not granted until 1982. Development on the dam started in March 1987 however halted in September 1988 in light of the fact that an obligation emergency slowed down financing. Development initiated again in 1990 and by 1994, the dam was finished. On June 10, 1994, the dam started to seize the stream as its supply filled. On November 15 of that year, the repository achieved its greatest dimension of 130 meters 430 ft.
