About Styrian Armoury
The Styrian Armoury inside the Austrian city of Graz, is the arena's biggest ancient armoury and attracts visitors from all around the international. It holds about 32,000 pieces of weaponry, tools, fits of armour for conflict and ones for parades. Between the 15th century and the 18th century, Styria became at the front line of just about non-stop war with the Ottoman Empire and with rebels in Hungary. In order to shield itself it wished troops and those troops needed equipment.
The Styrian Armoury effects from the resulting want to store big portions of armour and guns, and was constructed from 1642 to 1645 by means of a Tyrolean architect called Antonio Solar. After approximately one hundred years in use, Austrian empress Maria Theresia desired to shut down the armoury, as part of her centralisation of the defence of Austria. Nevertheless, Styria petitioned for the continuing existence of the armoury for both sensible and sentimental reasons. Their petition turned into widely wide-spread and the Armoury was left intact, but in large part decommissioned.
