About Casa Rosada

On the eastern side of Plaza de Mayo stands the Casa Rosada Pink House, named for its unmistakable shading. It was from the overhang here that Eva Perón broadly tended to the throngs of energetic supporters pressed into Plaza de Mayo.

The building houses the Argentine President's workplaces; the presidential living arrangement is in the suburb of Olivos, north of the inside.

One hypothesis goes that the Casa Rosada's pink shade spoke to President Sarmiento's endeavors to make peace amid his 1868– 74 term by mixing the red of the Federalists with the white of the Unitarians, yet the more probable clarification is that it was caused by blending white paint with cow-like blood, a typical practice in the late nineteenth century.
