About Juan B. Castagnino Fine Arts Museum
The Juan B. Castagnino Fine Arts Museum is an art museum in the city of Rosario, territory of Santa Fe, Argentina, considered the most imperative of the inside of the nation and the second in national terms. It is directed by the city government. The exhibition hall exists in the Parque de la Independencia promptly outside the downtown area, at the convergence of Orono Bouled and Pellegrini Avenue. The building was an undertaking by modelers Hilarion Hernandez Larguia and Juan Manuel Newton and opened in 1936.
It was given to the Municipality by Mrs. Rosa Tiscornia de Castagnino in memory of her late child Juan Bautista Castagnino, an essential workmanship pundit and authority at the time, and authoritatively introduced as an exhibition hall on 7 December 1937. The museum has two stories, totalling 35 rooms with 700 direct meters accessible for shows. The underlying masterful patrimony of the gallery was accumulated from gifts by private gatherers, in addition to the patrimony of the previous Municipal Fine Arts Museum, and after that increased by buys by the district and the Museum Foundation.
It currently comprises of in excess of 3,000 works, involving European craftsmanship, Argentine specialty of the nineteenth and twentieth century, and works by Rosario craftsmen until the 1930s. The contemporary workmanship gathering was moved to another exhibition hall, the Museum of Contemporary Art of Rosario opened in 2004.
