1. J&K Tourism Opens Single Window for Tourist Units
Department of Tourism Jammu and Kashmir has simplified the procedure of registration and renewal of various tourist units by a single window. For this Department of Tourism, Director Tourism Jammu and Director Tourism Kashmir has been nominated as authorities for accepting the registration of tourist units under the Tourist Act 1978. Under this act, various tourist units have submitted their applications through online and offline medium to the respective department for consideration. After the verification, within one month the departments will issue a certificate of registration.
These tourist units will have their validity extended for the fifteen years, 10 year and 5 years respectively as per the tenure of their business in this industry, and for hotels, it will be extended by 10 years. It will be considered under the basis of years in operation like 25 years, 10 years 5 years. The criteria for clearing this registration process it subject to get clearance from J&K Fire Services Department and Pollution Control Board. Further, the check will be undertaken periodically and failing it will lead to cancellation of registration. Further to welcome the online registration, the department will maintain the website to ease the life of tourist units in the state.
