Rynek Glowny

Rynek Glowny is one of the oldest and unchanged market squares in entire Europe. Situated in Cracow city, the markets bring back the atmosphere of the 13th century, the time at which it was built. In the center of the square is a dominating cloth hall called 'Sukiennice'. This arcaded pale yellow has been operational since the 14th century with its ground floor full of stalls selling kitsch items related to Pope John Paul II, Eastern Europe handicrafts, and folk arts. On the northeast side of the Rynek Glowny square, stands the beautiful St. Mary's Church. Built in the year 1222, St. Mary's Church is considered among the most splendid Gothic Churches in Europe. Other attraction of the square is the heritage hotel, Hotel Francuski. Operational ever since it was opened in 1912, Hotel Francuski still exudes that old world charm with its themes and decorations.
